Generating functions for maximally expanded α-trees

Abstract: We construct generating functions whose coefficients enumerate certain directed planar trees known as maximally expanded $\alpha$-trees. We show that the number of such trees can be expressed as an integer linear combination of Catalan numbers. This is joint work with David M. Bradley.
